Surah Yaseen mp3 by Ilhan Tok
Ilhan Tok, born in 1937 in Düzce, Turkey, is one of the most respected Quran reciters in the country, known for his powerful voice, deep command of Tajweed, and remarkable ability to perform a variety of Maqamat (melodic modes). In a country more known for writing the Quran than reciting it, Ilhan Tok stands out as a rare gem in Turkish Quranic heritage. He began his religious career in Istanbul, where he was appointed as a Muezzin at the Üsküdar Mosque. His exceptional dedication and talent quickly earned him a promotion to Imam and preacher in 1962, a role he served faithfully until his retirement in 1981. Remarkably, he spent his entire career in the same mosque, reflecting his loyalty and commitment to his community and his faith. Even after retiring from active service, he continued to contribute to Islamic education and Quranic propagation. He engaged in religious broadcasting through radio programs and published numerous articles on Islamic topics. His influence extended internationally when he represented Turkey at the International Quran Recitation Competition in Malaysia in 1981, earning admiration for his eloquence and mastery. Today, He holds a senior position in Ankara, serving as the President of Religious Affairs at the Religious Education Center, where he focuses on the teaching of the Quran and its sciences. His role reflects his lifelong passion for nurturing future generations in Quranic knowledge and spiritual growth. His legacy is built on his efforts to preserve and promote Quranic recitation in Turkey, and his name continues to inspire students and scholars across the Islamic world.
