Abdullah Ali Jabir was born in Jeddah in 1373 Hijrah (August 1954). He memorized the Quran at the age of 15 in Makkah. At the age of 23, he graduated from the Sharia Faculty of the Islamic University, followed by a doctorate in 1407 Hijrah. His research focused on “Abdullah Ibn Omar’s Fiqh and its Impact on Madinah’s School.” He became the Imam of Masjid al-Haram in Makkah in 1407 Hijrah and later held the position of Administrative Inspector. He also worked as a professor at King Fahd Abdul Aziz University, teaching Arabic Language and Islamic studies. An Imam and Qari in several mosques across Saudi Arabia, he was appointed Imam of the late King Khalid Ibn Abdul Aziz’s private mosque and, later, the Imam of Masjid al-Haram. In 1403 Hijrah, he chose to lead the evening prayers during Ramadan rather than continue his full-time imam duties. He passed away in 1426 Hijrah (14 December 2005) at the age of 51 due to illness, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful Quranic recitations and valuable contributions to Islamic education.
