Dr. Ahmed Nuaina, born in 1952 in Egypt, is a highly respected Quran reciter and scholar. He holds a master’s and Ph.D. in pediatric medicine, showcasing his dedication to both his medical profession and religious studies. From a young age, he was drawn to the art of Tajweed and Quran recitation. He began memorizing the Quran at just 8 years old and later studied Tajweed under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmad Al Shawa. Dr. Nuaina was greatly influenced by the famous Quran reciter Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, which inspired him to dedicate himself to perfecting his recitation skills. His training continued with Sheikh Mohammad Farid Al Noamani and his wife Sheikha Um Saad, where he mastered the Ten readings of the Quran. He received his elementary and secondary education in the “Motobas” schools, and he received his high school education in “Rashid” in “Al Beheira” governorate. He later served as the vice director of the University Children’s Hospital and the therapeutic institution in Alexandria. Despite his medical career, his passion for Quran recitation and Tajweed remained a central focus of his life. In 1967, he gained recognition from the Egyptian president at the time, Anwar Sadat, who was impressed by his understanding of Tajweed and Quran recitation. This admiration led to he being appointed to the presidential secretariat team as a designated doctor. He was honored with the title of “Presidency Quran Reader,” a prestigious position he held through the reign of President Hosni Mubarak.
