Surah Yaseen mp3 by Mahmood Ali Al Banna

Mahmood Ali Al-Banna was a highly respected Egyptian Quran reciter, known for his beautiful and powerful voice. He was born on December 17, 1926, in the village of Shobrabas, Egypt. He started memorizing the Holy Quran at a young age and completed it by the time he was 11 years old, under the guidance of Sheikh Moussa Al-Muntash. To gain more knowledge, he moved to Tanta, where he studied Islamic teachings at the Ahmadi Mosque under Sheikh Ibrahim Ibn Salam Al-Maliki. In 1945, he moved to Cairo, where he quickly gained recognition for his exceptional recitation skills. He further refined his knowledge of maqamat (melodic recitation techniques) under Darouich Hariri. His growing reputation led to his selection as a reciter for the Young Muslims Association, which further propelled his fame. In 1948, he was invited by Prince Abulkarim Al-Khattabi to join the Egyptian national radio station, marking a significant milestone in his career. This helped him become one of the most famous Quran reciters in Egypt and the Arab world. During the late 1940s and 1950s, he served as an Imam in several prestigious mosques, including Ain Al-Hayat Mosque, Al-Rifai Mosque, and Al-Ahmadi Mosque in Tanta. By 1980, he was leading prayers in Al-Imam Al-Hussein Mosque, where he remained until his passing. His influence extended beyond Egypt, as he had the honor of reciting the Quran in some of the world’s most sacred places, including the Holy Mosque of Jeddah, the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, the Umayyad Mosque, and Al-Aqsa Mosque. In 1967, he recorded and published his Quranic recitations, which were later broadcast on Egyptian, Saudi, and the UAE radio stations. His voice reached a global audience as he traveled to several countries, including Germany in 1978. Passionate about supporting fellow reciters, he played a key role in advocating for a reciters’ syndicate, eventually becoming its president in 1984. He passed away on July 20, 1985 (Dhul-Qi’dah 3, 1405 AH), leaving behind a legacy of devotion to the Quran. His recitations continue to inspire and touch the hearts of millions of Muslims worldwide, preserving his memory as one of the most legendary Quran reciters in history.
