Abdallah Kamel was a renowned Egyptian Quran reciter and scholar, known for his heartfelt and melodious recitation. Born in 1985 in Al-Mushrik Al-Qabli, a village in the Fayoum Governorate of Egypt, he was blind from birth. Despite this challenge, he memorized the entire Quran using the Braille system and pursued higher education, graduating from the Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom at Fayoum University in 2005. He led Taraweeh prayers in various mosques, including Badr Al Islami’s mosque, and delivered religious lectures. His captivating recitation attracted large audiences, and his recordings have inspired many Muslims. He also had a significant presence in media, hosting Islamic programs on channels such as Al Rahma, Al Nas, and Al Hafez. His show Nabadat Al Shaeir (The Poet’s Pulse) gained popularity, and he won first place in the Mizmar Al Dawud competition on Al Fajr channel in 2015. In 2023, Abdallah Kamel passed away in the United States after leading Taraweeh prayers in Brooklyn, New York. His legacy lives on through his Qur’an recitations and Islamic teachings, which continue to inspire people worldwide.
