Surah Yaseen mp3 by AbdelHamid Hssain
Abdel Hamid Hssain (also spelled Abdelhamid Hssain or Abd al-Hamid Husayn) was a renowned Moroccan Quran reciter, teacher, and radio presenter. He was born in 1932 in Rabat, Morocco, he became one of the country’s most respected figures in Quranic recitation and Tajweed.
From a young age, he showed a deep love for the Quran, leading his father to enroll him in a Quranic school where he memorized the entire Holy Quran. He became especially known for his beautiful recitations in the Warsh ‘an Naafi’ narration, a style widely followed in Morocco. His voice was clear, balanced, and deeply spiritual, touching the hearts of listeners across the Arab world.
Beyond recitation, he played a major role in teaching Tajweed and spreading Quranic knowledge in Morocco. He worked with the Moroccan National Radio as a supervisor of Arabic programs and collaborated with the famous Egyptian reciter Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary to launch the educational program “How Do We Read the Quran?”. This radio show helped thousands of Moroccans learn proper Tajweed according to the Warsh ‘an Naafi’ method.
His dedication to Quran education continued through his efforts in establishing the first Association of Quran Readers (Moujawidin) and later Dar Al-Quran, both of which became important centers for Quranic learning in Morocco.
In recognition of his lifelong service, the late King Hassan II appointed him as the first official Quran reciter (Moujawid) for Morocco’s Ramadan Quran series in 1402 Hijri (1982). He continued to serve Islam until his passing on December 21, 1992.
Just as Abdel Hamid Hssain touched countless hearts with his soulful recitation, other gifted reciters, including Ilyas Hajri, Anas Bourak, Hisham Al-Haraz, Laayoun El Kouchi, Omar Al Kazabri, Abdul Basit ‘Abd us-Samad, Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Dr Ayman Swed, and Khalid Al Jalil, continue this beautiful legacy. Their distinct voices and sincere devotion remind believers of the timeless power of the Qur’an.
Today, his clear and heartfelt recitations preserved in digital archives continue to inspire Quran lovers around the world. Here, you can listen to his Surah Yaseen recitation online or download the MP3 file for easy access.
