Abdallah Kamel (1985 – 2023) was a well-known Egyptian Quran reciter admired for his heartfelt and emotional recitation. Blind since birth, he became a true example of patience and faith. Using the Louis Braille system, he memorized the entire Quran at a young age and dedicated his life to spreading its message through his beautiful voice.

He graduated from Fayoum University in 2005 and later joined the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom at the same university. His pure and soulful recitations attracted large crowds who came to pray with humility and peace. He served as an imam at Badr Al Islami’s Mosque, where he led Taraweeh prayers and gave weekly Islamic lessons. He was also a respected speaker at a mosque in Al Kiman.

Beyond his work in mosques, he became a familiar face on Islamic television. He hosted the show Nabadat Al-Shaeir (The Poet Pulses) on Al Rahma Channel and appeared on Al Muqri’at on Al Nass Channel. In addition, he won first place in the Quran recitation competition Mizmar Al Dawud, broadcast on Fajr TV.

He was loved for his melodious, sincere, and emotional recitations, which touched millions across the world. Though he lost his sight, Allah blessed him with a voice that moved hearts and inspired believers.

Abdallah Kamel, along with other admired Qur’an reciters such as Yousef Maaty, Hatem Fareed Alwaer, Mohammad Ismaeel Al-Muqaddim, Muhammad Hassan, Abdul Basit ‘Abd us-Samad, Mahmood Ali Al Banna, Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Abdul Hadi Kanakri, and Shirazad Taher, continues to inspire millions through his emotional Qur’an recitations, reminding believers of the beauty, peace, and guidance found in every verse.
