Surah Yaseen mp3 by Abdel Rahman Benmoussa
Abdel Rahman Benmoussa was a famous Moroccan Quran reciter and respected Islamic scholar, born on August 28, 1908, in Salé, Morocco. He came from a family of knowledge, and his father, Ahmed Benmoussa, was a well-known jurist who inspired him to study the Quran from an early age. Under the guidance of Sheikh Abdul Hadi Ateobi, he memorized the entire Quran and developed a deep love for its recitation, especially in the Warsh tradition, which is widely followed in Morocco.
His beautiful and precise recitation earned him great respect, and he was later invited to lead prayers for King Mohammed V during Ramadan. The king admired his voice so much that he invited Benmoussa to live at the royal palace. He later became a teacher to the young Crown Prince Hassan II, instructing him at the Mulawiya School inside the palace. During difficult times, King Mohammed V often asked him to recite the Quran for comfort and peace.
In the 1960s, his recitations began airing on Moroccan national radio, making his voice known across the country. His recordings are still available today on YouTube, where listeners continue to enjoy his soulful and spiritual recitations.
Abdel Rahman Benmoussa’s legacy shines alongside other remarkable Qur’an reciters who continue to inspire listeners worldwide. Among them are Laayoun El Kouchi, Hisham Al-Haraz, Abdul Aziz Al Karaani, Anas Bourak, Abdul Kabir AL Hadidi, Abdul Basit ‘Abd us-Samad, Muhammad Siddiq AL-Minshawi, Emad Al Mansary, and Mohammad Ismaeel Al-Muqaddim, each known for their heartfelt delivery and deep connection to the words of Allah.
