Abdul Hadi Kanakri is a respected Quran reciter, imam, and scholar from Syria, known for his beautiful and emotional recitation of the Holy Quran. He was born in the village of Halabon, near Damascus, into a deeply religious and scholarly family. His father, Sheikh Ahmad Kanakeri, a master of the Ten Qira’at (Ten Readings), played a key role in shaping his Quranic journey.

From a very young age, he memorized the Quran and studied under his father and other renowned scholars, including Sheikh Ahmad Kaftaro, the former Mufti of Syria. With strong determination, he completed his early education and later earned a Doctorate in the Science of Quranic Readings from Pakistan with excellence.

He dedicated his life to teaching and spreading the message of the Quran. He served as a professor at the Faculty of Prince Sultan of Health Sciences in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and also worked as an Imam at the Abu Bakr Siddiq Mosque until 1430 Hijri. Over the years, he has led prayers in many mosques both in Syria and abroad, especially during Taraweeh in Ramadan, where his heartfelt recitations captivate worshippers.
