Abdul Rashid Ali Sufi is a world-renowned Somali Quran reciter, born in 1964. He is the son of the famous scholar and reciter Sheikh Ali Abdul Rahman Sufi, who dedicated his life to Quranic education in Somalia by founding schools, institutes, and the well-known Sheikh Ali Sufi Mosque in Mogadishu. Inspired by his father, he memorized the Quran at the age of ten and learned Tajweed, Fiqh, and different recitations under his father’s guidance.

In 1981, he traveled to Egypt, where he studied at the Quran Recitations Institute and received high-level certification in the ten Qira’at. He also studied at Al-Azhar Mosque, earning degrees from Sheikh Mohamed Ibn Ismail Al Hamdani in advanced Quranic recitations.

After returning to Somalia, he taught and led prayers in his father’s mosque before traveling to several Arab countries to spread Quranic knowledge. He later became the imam of Anas Ibn Malik Mosque in Doha, Qatar, where he continues to inspire Muslims through his recitation and teaching. Known for his melodious and spiritual voice, he has participated in international conferences and seminars, sharing the beauty of Quran recitation across the Muslim world and beyond.
