Abdullah bin Mohammed Abdul-Ghani Khayat was born in 1326 Hijrah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. He developed a passion for Islamic knowledge at a young age and memorized the Qur’an early on. His prominent teachers included Sheikh Abdullah Ibn Hassan Al Echeikh, Abdu Daher Mohamed Abu Samh, and Sheikh Mohamed Abdurrazik Hamza. He graduated from the Saudi Scientific Institute in 1360 Hijrah. In 1367 Hijrah, he was appointed as the Imam of Masjid al-Haram but had to step down due to health reasons. Aside from being a distinguished reciter, he was a member of the Master Theologians Institute and contributed greatly to the intellectual Islamic movement through his literary works. His impact in the fields of Quranic recitation and Islamic scholarship continues to be remembered. He passed away in 1415 Hijrah. He was highly respected for his beautiful and captivating recitations, which were widely broadcasted on Saudi official TV channels and radio stations.
