Surah Yaseen mp3 by Ali Hajjaj Al Souissi
Ali Hajjaj Al Souissi was a highly respected Quran reciter, born in Cairo in 1926. He was renowned for his deep knowledge of Quranic recitation and Tajweed. From a young age, he showed a strong passion for religious studies, memorizing the Quran by the age of ten under the guidance of Sheikh Abou Aziz Al Sahaar, a prominent Azhari scholar. In his early years, he furthered his Quranic studies at Fadel Bacha Mosque in Darb Al Jamames, where he perfected his Tajweed under Sheikh Muhammad Refaat’s guidance. He also studied Arabic music at the Institute of Arabic Music, combining his recitation with an understanding of musical theory. His use of “Maqam Al Saba” and mastery of Tajweed earned him the title “the strong throat holder” from Sheikh Abdul Aziz Harbi. In 1951, at 25 years old, he was selected as an accredited Quran reciter by Egyptian radio. He went on to record a full version of the Quran for Egyptian, Saudi, and Kuwaiti radio channels. His contributions were recognized in 1989 when former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak awarded him the prestigious “Order of Distinction.” He passed away in 2002 at the age of 76, leaving behind a legacy of Quranic recitations and a lasting impact on the world of Quranic study and recitation.
