Aziz Alili is a well-known Quran reciter and Imam, born on May 29, 1968, in Lipkovo, Kumanovo, Macedonia. Coming from a religious family, he memorized the Quran at an early age and pursued his Islamic education at the Gazi Husrev-beg Madrasa in Sarajevo. His talent and dedication to the Quran soon made him one of the most respected reciters in the Balkan region.

From 1984 to 1986, he served as the Muezzin of Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque in Sarajevo, and later, between 1989 and 1993, he continued to strengthen his service in the mosque. In 1995, he moved to Zagreb, Croatia, where he began working as an Imam and Khatib. He also taught Quranic recitation (Qira’at) at the Dr. Ahmad Smajlovic Madrasa, guiding students in mastering Tajweed and recitation styles.

He furthered his studies at the Institute of Erkam bin Erkam in Makkah, where he received Ijazah in the Ten Qira’at under the guidance of Sheikh Abdul Abdeddaim Settir Al-Maghribi. Alongside Quran recitation, he is also known for his soulful nasheeds and has recorded more than 14 albums and 3 audio-video cassettes, which are widely loved by the Muslim community.

Aziz Alili is not only admired in the Balkans but also recognized among respected voices of the Qur’an worldwide. Alongside him, reciters such as Abdullah Khulaifi, Hamza El Far, Muhammad Al-Aalim Al-Dokali, Ahmed Alshafey, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary, Hasan Ali Moraib, Khalid Al Jalil, Ibrahim Al Thuwaini, and Muhammad Sulaiman Patel have also earned a special place in the hearts of Muslims, each known for their own unique style of bringing the Qur’an closer to people.

Currently, he serves as the Chief Imam of the Islamic Community in Zagreb, Croatia. He is married to Lamia Jukic, and together they have four children: Amin, Ahmed, Ali, and Kerim. Through his powerful recitations and inspiring nasheeds, he has become a leading figure in Islamic spirituality in Europe, touching the hearts of millions of Muslims worldwide.
