Dr. Ahmed Nuaina, is a world-renowned Quran reciter from Egypt, admired for his unique voice and mastery of Tajweed. He was born in 1952 in Motobas, Kafr Al-Sheikh, Egypt, and from a young age, he showed a deep love for the Quran. By the age of eight, he had already memorized the entire Quran. He studied Tajweed under Sheikh Ahmad Al Shawa and later mastered the Ten Qira’at (Ten readings) with the guidance of Sheikh Mohammad Farid Al Noamani and his wife, Sheikha Um Saad.

Deeply influenced by the legendary reciter Sheikh Mustafa Ismail, Dr. Nuaina adopted a recitation style filled with emotion, clarity, and spiritual depth. His talent was soon recognized, and in 1967, during a ceremony, President Anwar Sadat was so impressed by his recitation that he appointed him as the “Presidency Quran Reader.” He continued in this role during the era of President Hosni Mubarak, often reciting at official events and state ceremonies.

Alongside his Quranic journey, he is also a highly educated doctor. He earned his Master’s and Ph.D. in Pediatrics from the University of Alexandria and served as vice director at Alexandria University Children’s Hospital. Despite his busy career in medicine, his dedication to the Quran never faded.

The legacy of Dr. Ahmed Nuaina continues to inspire millions of listeners around the world. His recitations are admired for their deep spirituality and precise Tajweed, and he has traveled internationally to recite before kings, presidents, and large audiences. He also won several international Quran competitions, including in India (1985), Malaysia (1995), and Brunei. Alongside him, other renowned reciters such as Abdul Basit ‘Abd us-Samad, Abdul-Munim Abdul-Mubdi, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary, Abdul Bari Mohammed, Mohammed Jibreel, Muhammad Siddiq AL-Minshawi, Mahmoud Abdel Hakam, Hassan Saleh, and Ali Hajjaj Al Souissi have also spread the beauty of the Quran across the Muslim world.
