Khalifa Tunaiji is a world-renowned Quran reciter and imam from the United Arab Emirates. He was born in 1969 in the city of Dhaid, Sharjah. From a young age, he showed deep love for the Quran and memorized it completely by the age of 13 under the guidance of Sheikh Ghulam Hussain at the City Center of Quran. To further strengthen his recitation, he traveled to Madinah, Saudi Arabia, where he studied under the famous reciter of Masjid An-Nabawi, Sheikh Ibrahim Al Akhdar. He was granted ijazah (certification) in Hafs ‘an Asim, Warsh, and Qalun narrations. His voice is known for its clarity, strength, and spiritual depth, which has inspired millions of Muslims around the world.

Along with being a reciter, he is also a qualified civil engineer. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of the UAE in 2001. He later held several key government positions, including Director of Public Works in Sharjah, and currently serves as the Head of the Housing Directorate and as a member of the Sharjah Executive Council.

He has also served as an imam in many mosques across the UAE, including Grand Rashidiya Mosque in Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Ajman, and Omar bin Al-Khattab Mosque in Sharjah. He has recorded a complete recitation of the Holy Quran, along with special recordings to help children learn and memorize it.

In addition, he has participated in many national and international Quran competitions, winning several awards and serving on judging panels. His recitation style is often described as soothing, powerful, and spiritually uplifting, making him one of the most respected reciters in the Muslim world.
