Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary, was one of the famous Quran reciters of the 20th century and remains highly regarded today. Born in 1917 in a village near Tanta, Egypt, he memorized the Quran at a young age. He later studied at Al-Azhar University, specializing in the ten different recitations of the Quran. In 1944, he became a member of Egyptian radio, where he was the first to record the entire Quran in multiple narrations: Hafs, Warsh, and Qalon. One of his notable achievements was creating a special method for learning Quran recitation by repeating after the reciter, which helped many reciters perfect their skills. He also led the committee for correcting errors in the Quran and served as the Sheikh of Egyptian memorization centers, overseeing Quranic education nationwide. He passed away in 1980.
