Muhammad Abdul-Kareem is a well-known Quran reciter and imam, born on September 9, 1968, in Mashaw village near Dongola, Sudan. From a young age, he showed a deep love for the Quran and memorized it under the guidance of great scholars in Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah. In 1983, he completed the memorization of the Quran and in 1985 received certification in the Seven Qira’at from Sheikh Muhammad Nabhan Masri. His recitation is admired for its clarity, emotion, and mastery of Tajweed.

He pursued Islamic Studies at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah and later completed both his master’s and Ph.D. in the same field from the University of Khartoum. Over the years, he learned from many famous scholars, including Sheikh Ibn Baz, Sheikh Al Uthaymeen, and Sheikh Al Shanqeeti.

He has served as an imam and preacher in several mosques, including Al Mujamaa Al Islami Mosque in Khartoum. He is currently the Imam of Al Kawthar Mosque in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where his powerful and melodious recitation inspires worshippers daily.

In addition to leading prayers, he has taught Quran, Tajweed, and Islamic sciences in various institutes and universities. He also supervises Quran memorization programs and participates in Dawah activities. The Sheikh has authored several important books, including “Landmarks of Integrity in the Holy Quran and Sunnah” and “The Treatment of Waswasah in Aqidah.”

He also holds important leadership positions, such as serving as president of the Islamic culture department at Matloub Et Al Jamiaa and as a member of the advisory committee of Sudan’s Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs.

Muhammad Abdul-Kareem is recognized alongside other distinguished reciters such as Alzain Mohamed Ahmed, AL Fateh Muhammad Zubair, Hassan Al-Wajdi, Adil Al Kalbani, Karim Mansouri, Abdullah Al Munsalih, Yousef Maaty, Ahmad Al Rozaiqy, and Ahmed Ibn Ali Al-Ajmy, each enriching the tradition of Quranic recitation with their unique voices.

He is married and blessed with seven children. His recorded recitations in Hafs An Asim and Al-Duri An Abi Amr styles are widely available online, reaching Muslims worldwide and making him one of the most respected Sudanese Quran reciters of modern times.
