Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali is a world-famous Quran reciter from Pakistan, admired for his soulful voice and mastery of Tajweed. Born in Pakistan, he began reciting the Quran at a young age and gave his first recitation on Radio Pakistan in 1966. Over the years, he has participated in more than 200 local and international Qiraat competitions, winning many of them and making his country proud.
He was a student of the legendary Egyptian Qari, Abdul Basit ‘Abd us-Samad, which greatly influenced his style and excellence in recitation. He has represented Pakistan in Quran recitation competitions across Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Iran, the UK, USA, Europe, and beyond. He was also the first Pakistani to win first position in the International Husn-e-Qirat competition in Bangladesh.
In recognition of his contributions, he has received Pakistan’s highest civil awards, including the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (2020), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (2015), and the Pride of Performance Award. He has also served as a Qari at the Provincial Assembly of Punjab’s inaugural sessions. Today, he is the Chairman of Saut-ul-Qura International, Pakistan, as well as the Senior Qari at PTV and Radio Pakistan.
Qari Syed Sadaqat Ali is celebrated as a voice that continues to shine among many renowned Qur’an reciters, each admired for touching hearts with their unique style. Among them are Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Anas Almiman, Hani Ar Rifai, Abdul Rahman Jamal Aloosi, Badr bin Mohammed Al-Turki, Abu Bakr Al-Shatri, Hatem Fareed Alwaer, and Salah Al Hashim, all of whom have enriched the legacy of Qur’anic recitation with their own devotion and distinct voices.
He also became widely known through his famous TV program “Al-Quran”, launched in 1992 on PTV, which taught children proper Quran reading and pronunciation. The program is still replayed today, showing its lasting impact. His recitations continue to inspire Muslims worldwide, making him one of the most respected Quran reciters of modern times.
