Saud Al-Shuraim is one of the most respected Quran reciters in the world. He was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in January 1966. He is best known as the Imam and Khatib (preacher) of Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah, a role he has held since 1991. He studied at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, where he learned under well-known scholars such as Sheikh Abdulaziz Bin Baz, Abdallah Al Jabreen, and Abderrahmane Al Berrak. He later earned a Master’s degree in Islamic Fundamentals and a Ph.D. in Islamic Sharia from Umm Al Qura University in Makkah.

In 1992, he was appointed as a judge in the High Court of Saudi Arabia and officially named as an Imam of the Grand Mosque. Over the years, he has led prayers during Ramadan and Hajj, drawing millions of worshippers with his emotional and spiritual recitation. Beyond leading prayers, he is also known for his lectures, Islamic scholarship, and humanitarian efforts.

He belongs to a group of prominent reciters who have touched hearts around the world, including Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Mishary Rashid Alafasy, Saad Al Ghamidi, Maher Al Mueaqly, Yasser Al-Dosari, Abdulaziz Az-Zahrani, and Rachid Belachia.
