Yassen Al Jazairi is a well-known Quran reciter from Algeria. He was born in 1969 in El Harrach, Algeria, and became admired for his melodious voice, clear pronunciation, and deep spiritual tone. From a young age, he showed a passion for the Quran. He led Tarawih prayers at just 15 years old and continued to strengthen his knowledge through both religious and academic studies. Alongside his Quranic studies, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and later studied Sharia at the University of Algiers, specializing in the Fundamentals of Religion.
He is especially recognized as the first reciter in Algeria to record a complete Quran recitation in the Warsh ‘an Tariq Al-Azraq narration. This method of recitation, known as Warsh ‘an Nafi’, is widely followed in North and West African countries, including Algeria. His recitations are preserved in digital archives and are loved by listeners across the Muslim world.
In addition to teaching and reciting, he worked as a chemistry professor and is now active with Holy Quran Radio in Algeria, where he records Quran lessons, tafsir (interpretation), and educational programs. He also teaches Quran and Islamic rulings in mosques, inspiring many students.
