36.7
لَقَدۡ حَقَّ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكۡثَرِهِمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
The Word is proved true Against the greater part of them: For they do not believe.ا

36.6
لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمٗا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ غَٰفِلُونَ
In order that you mayest Admonish a people, Whose fathers had received No admonition, and who Therefore remain heedless (Of the Signs of God).ا

36.9
وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۢ بَيۡنِ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ سَدّٗا وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ سَدّٗا فَأَغۡشَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يُبۡصِرُونَ
And We have put A barrier in front of them And a barrier behind them, And further, We have Covered them up; so that They cannot see any thing.ا

36.8
إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَا فِيٓ أَعۡنَٰقِهِمۡ أَغۡلَٰلٗا فَهِيَ إِلَى ٱلۡأَذۡقَانِ فَهُم مُّقۡمَحُونَ
We have put yokes Round their necks Right up to their chins, So that their heads are Forced up (and they cannot see).ا

36.11
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ وَخَشِيَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنَ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِمَغۡفِرَةٖ وَأَجۡرٖ كَرِيمٍ
You can only admonish him who follows the admonition and fears the Merciful God, though he can’t see Him. Give him the good news of forgiveness and of a generous reward.ا

36.10
وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَأَنذَرۡتَهُمۡ أَمۡ لَمۡ تُنذِرۡهُمۡ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
It is all the same for them Whether you admonish them or you do not admonish Them: they will not believe.ا

36.13
وَٱضۡرِبۡ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصۡحَٰبَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ إِذۡ جَآءَهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ
Tell them, for instance, the story of the people of the habitation when the Messengers came to it.ا

36.12
إِنَّا نَحۡنُ نُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَنَكۡتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُواْ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمۡۚ وَكُلَّ شَيۡءٍ أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ فِيٓ إِمَامٖ مُّبِينٖ
We shall certainly one day raise the dead to life. We are recording all the deeds they have done and also that which they have left behind: We have preserved everything in an open Book.ا

36.15
قَالُواْ مَآ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا تَكۡذِبُونَ
The people said, “You are no more than men like us, and the Merciful God has sent down nothing: you are only telling a lie.”ا

36.14
إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِمُ ٱثۡنَيۡنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزۡنَا بِثَالِثٖ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ إِلَيۡكُم مُّرۡسَلُونَ
We sent to them two Messengers and they denied both. Then We sent a third one to strengthen them, and they all said, “We have been sent to you as Messengers.”ا

36.17
وَمَا عَلَيۡنَآ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
And our only responsibility is to convey the message plainly.”ا

36.16
قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا يَعۡلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ لَمُرۡسَلُونَ
The Messengers said, “Our Lord knows that we have indeed been sent as Messengers to you:ا

36.19
قَالُواْ طَـٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمۡ أَئِن ذُكِّرۡتُمۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٞ مُّسۡرِفُونَ
The Messengers replied, “Your evil omen is with your own selves. Do you say this because you have been admonished? The fact is that you are a people who have transgressed all limits.”ا

36.18
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرۡنَا بِكُمۡۖ لَئِن لَّمۡ تَنتَهُواْ لَنَرۡجُمَنَّكُمۡ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
The people said, “We regard you as an evil omen for us. If you do not desist (from this), we shall stone you, and you will receive a painful punishment from us.”ا

36.21
ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَن لَّا يَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ أَجۡرٗا وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ
Follow those who do not ask any reward of you and are on the Right Way.ا

36.20
وَجَآءَ مِنۡ أَقۡصَا ٱلۡمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٞ يَسۡعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱتَّبِعُواْ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ
In the meantime a man came running from the remote part of the city, and he said, “O my people! follow the Messengers:ا

36.23
أَأَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً إِنْ يُرِدْنِ الرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرٍّ لَا تُغْنِ عَنِّي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يُنْقِذُونِ
Should I take other gods than Him? whereas if the Merciful God intends to harm me, their intercession cannot avail me anything, nor can they rescue me.ا

36.22
وَمَا لِيَ لَآ أَعۡبُدُ ٱلَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
Well, why should I not worship the Being Who has created me, and to Whom all of you have to return?ا

بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ
How my Lord has forgiven me and included me among the honoured ones!”ا

قِيلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَا لَيْتَ قَوْمِي يَعْلَمُونَ
(Consequently, they killed the man and) It was said to him, “Enter Paradise.” He said, “Would that my people knew(what I know)!ا

36.29
إِنْ كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَامِدُونَ
There only occurred a single blast and they all became extinct.ا

36.28
وَمَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ جُنْدٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنْزِلِينَ
After him We did not send any army against his people from heaven, nor was it needful for Us to send one.ا

36.31
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ
Have they not seen how many nations We have destroyed before them, and they never returned to them?ا

36.30
يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Alas for the servants! There came no Messenger to them but they scoffed at him!ا

36.33
وَآيَةٌ لَهُمُ الْأَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَاهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ
The dead land is a Sign for these people. We gave it life and produced grain from it, which they eat.ا

36.32
وَإِنْ كُلٌّ لَمَّا جَمِيعٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ
They will all be presented before Us one day!(for Judgment).ا

36.35
لِيَأْكُلُوا مِنْ ثَمَرِهِ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ
That they may eat fruits thereof. It is not their hands which have made all this. Do they not then give thanks?ا

36.34
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّاتٍ مِنْ نَخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ الْعُيُونِ
We made orchards of date- palms and grapes in it and caused springs to gush out of it.ا

وَآيَةٌ لَهُمُ اللَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُمْ مُظْلِمُونَ
Another sign for them is the night: We remove the day from above it, and they are covered in darkness.ا

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Glorified is He Who created in pairs all species, whether of vegetable kingdom or of their own (i.e. human) kind, or of those things of which they know nothing.ا

36.39
وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَاهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ
And the Moon: We have determined stages for it till it again becomes like an old dry palm-branch.ا

36.38
وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ
And the Sun: it is moving to its place of rest. This is the decree of the All-Mighty, All-Knowing God.ا

36.41
وَآيَةٌ لَهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ
Yet another Sign is that We bore their progeny in a laden Ark.ا

36.40
لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغِي لَهَا أَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
Neither is it possible for the Sun to overtake the Moon, nor for the night to outstrip the day. Each is gliding in its own orbit.ا

36.43
وَإِنْ نَشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْقَذُونَ
If we please We can drown them when they would have no one to hear their cry, nor would they be rescued in any way.ا

36.42
وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِنْ مِثْلِهِ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ
And then made for them similar other vessels which they board.ا

36.45
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّقُوا مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
When it is said to them, “Guard against the end which is before you and which you have left behind, so that you are shown mercy,” (they pay no heed).ا

36.44
إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِنَّا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
It is our Mercy alone which sustains them and enables them to enjoy life till an appointed time.ا

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنْفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنُطْعِمُ مَنْ لَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
And when it is said to them, “Spend also in the way of Allah out of what He has given you,” those who disbelieve say to those who believe, “Should we feed those whom Allah Himself could have fed had He so willed? You have utterly gone astray!”ا

36.46
وَمَا تَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ
Whatever sign of the signs of their Lord reaches them, they turn away from it.ا

36.49
مَا يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ
In fact, what they are awaiting is a single blast, which will suddenly seize them while they will be disputing (about their worldly affairs).ا

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
They say, “When will this promise be carried out? Tell us if you are truthful.”ا

36.51
وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُمْ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنْسِلُونَ
Then a Trumpet be blown, and they shall come out of their graves forthwith to present themselves before their Lord.ا

36.50
فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلَا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Then they will neither be able to make a will, nor be able to return to their families.ا

36.53
إِنْ كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌ لَدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ
There shall only be a single loud blast and they shall be presented before Us, all together.ا

36.52
قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا مَنْ بَعَثَنَا مِنْ مَرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ
Bewildered they will say, “Ah! who has roused us from our sleeping-place?” (The reply will be), “This is the same which the Merciful God had promised and the Messengers had spoken the truth.”ا

36.55
إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ الْيَوْمَ فِي شُغُلٍ فَاكِهُونَ
(On this Day) the companions of Paradise are absorbed in enjoying bliss:ا

36.54
فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
On this Day no one will be wronged in the least, and you will be rewarded exactly according to what you had been doing.ا

لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَلَهُمْ مَا يَدَّعُونَ
They have all kinds of tasteful foods and whatever they may desire:ا

هُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُمْ فِي ظِلَالٍ عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ مُتَّكِئُونَ
They and their wives are in thick shades, reclining upon thrones (of dignity):ا

36.61
وَأَنِ اعْبُدُونِي ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
But to worship Me alone? This is the Straight Way.ا

36.60
أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ أَنْ لَا تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُبِينٌ
Children of Adam, did I not enjoin on you not to worship Satan, who is your open enemy,ا

36.63
هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي كُنْتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
This is the same Hell with which you used to be threatened.ا

36.62
وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنْكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُونَ
Yet, in spite of this, he led astray a great multitude of you: did you not have common sense?ا

36.65
الْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
On that Day We shall seal their mouths: their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify as to what they had been earning in the world.ا

36.64
اصْلَوْهَا الْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
Now be its fuel in consequence of your disbelief in the world.ا

36.67
وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ
If We please, We can so transform them in their places that they would neither be able to go forward nor turn backward.ا

36.66
وَلَوْ نَشَاءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُوا الصِّرَاطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ
If We will, We can put out their eyes: then let them strive to seek the way: wherefrom will they see it?ا

36.69
وَمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ الشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لَهُ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْآنٌ مُبِينٌ
We have not taught this (Prophet) poetry nor does poetry behove him. This is only an Admonition and a lucid Book.ا

36.68
وَمَنْ نُعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ
Whomsoever We grant a long life, We just reverse him in creation. Do they not understand anything(from this)?ا

36.71
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَا أَنْعَامًا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَالِكُونَ
Do they not see that out of what Our hands have fashioned, We have created for them cattle of which they are owners?ا

36.70
لِيُنْذِرَ مَنْ كَانَ حَيًّا وَيَحِقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ
So that he may warn every living person and the charge is established against the disbelievers.ا

36.73
وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ
And in them there are different advantages and drinks (Milk) for them. Then, will they not be grateful?ا

36.72
وَذَلَّلْنَاهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ
We have so subjected these to them that they ride on some and eat the flesh of others.ا

لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُنْدٌ مُحْضَرُونَ
They cannot help them at all: yet do these people stand as an ever ready army at their service.ا

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ
Yet, they have set up other gods, apart from Allah, hoping that they would be helped.ا

36.77
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْإِنْسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُبِينٌ
Does not man see that We created him from a sperm-drop, and yet he stands forth as a manifest adversary?ا

36.76
فَلَا يَحْزُنْكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ
Well, let not their words grieve you: We know whatever they hide and whatever they reveal.ا

36.79
قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا الَّذِي أَنْشَأَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ
Tell him, “He Who created them in the first instance will give them life again: He is skilled at every kind of creation.ا

وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ ۖ قَالَ مَنْ يُحْيِي الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٌ
And now he strikes out likenesses for Us and forgets his own creation. He says, “Who will give life to these bones when they are rotten?”ا

36.81
أَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَىٰ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْ ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ
Is not He Who created the heavens and the earth able to create the like of them? Why not, when He is the skilful Creator.ا

36.80
الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِنَ الشَّجَرِ الْأَخْضَرِ نَارًا فَإِذَا أَنْتُمْ مِنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ
He it is Who created fire for you from the green tree, with which you kindle your fuel.ا

36.83
فَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
Glorified is He in Whose hand is the absolute control of everything, and to Him you shall all be returned.ا

إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَيْئًا أَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
When He intends anything, He only command: “Be”, and it is.ا

Surah Yaseen Summary:
Surah Yaseen is referred to as the “Heart of Quran”. It is often said “Yaseen” is also the name of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It has 83 verses and it is the 36th chapter of the Quran and It has 807 words and 3,028 letters. It has 5 ruku (sections). It is part of the 22nd Juz and continues into the 23rd Juz. 1. Affirmation of Prophethood:
